SYRACUSE, N.Y., May 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Following today's meeting of the City of Syracuse Industrial Development Agency (SIDA), Bob Fontana, chief executive officer of Aspen Dental Management, Inc. released the following statement:
We're excited about the possibility of relocating our Practice Support Center from East Syracuse to downtown Syracuse, a move that will not only keep our talented team of nearly 600 people right here in Central New York, but also allow us to be a part of the downtown revitalization effort.
For nearly two decades, ADMI has provided non-clinical business support services to 550 independently- owned and operated Aspen Dental practices across 33 states. As one of the largest employers in the region, we are proud to have grown our business successfully right here in Central New York. According to a study by Syracuse University's Whitman School of Management, ADMI contributes an estimated $100 million to the regional economy each year in employee wages and benefits, locally-sourced goods and services and local tax contributions.
Collectively, Aspen Dental practices provide care for an estimated 20,000 patients every single day, and thanks in large part to the hard work and commitment of our team here at ADMI's Practice Support Center, a new Aspen Dental practice opens every five days. We're optimistic about the proposed move, which represents a great opportunity for our continued growth and expansion and supports the development of a vibrant community in downtown Syracuse.
Pending the finalization of terms with the landlord and other stakeholders, we anticipate that construction will begin this summer and that we will move in late 2017. The new facility will include 170,000 square feet of space, including a state-of-the-art training facility, and result in the creation of an estimated 400 new jobs by 2020.
